Valentines Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I may not have gotten to do some fancy DIY valentines this year, (although I would have loved to and am super jealous of all the cute ones I am seeing on facebook!) I did manage to snap a few photos of Michael for his valentines to his grandparents (they are on their way!). My camera has barely been out since Christmas and it does take effort to get it out and take a few quick photos to document the passing of time but I am always glad when I do.

I had to include this outtake of Michael's super cheesy smile- it just makes me smile every time! He is trying to so hard to do what I am telling him and that just makes my heart melt. I love taking photos of him in this same spot as when he was younger....so bittersweet.

I cannot get enough of how such a sweet, smart, and polite little boy Michael is turning into. I think being four is such a precious age and it is very different than being two or three. Lately he has been waking up in the morning right when I open my bedroom door and gives me about a thousand goodbye hugs and kisses. I think it is stemming from one day last week when I left without saying goodbye and he was really heartbroken-even though he was sleeping so soundly and I couldn't bear to wake him up! This morning he walked me all the way to the door and continued to shout greetings and warnings from the doorway while I got in my car, "Have a good day, mom! We'll see you tonight! Be careful, it might be slippery out there!" It just cracks me up and I am happy that he is such a happy boy.

I feel like people have been worried because I haven't been blogging as much but I assure you- I am doing absolutely fine. I feel like I say this every blog post but school has been ridiculous and I am very stressed out about it all the time...even having nightly stress dreams about things at school. Last night I had one that I was so busy at school that I had to miss my flight to Disney World--a nightmare!!! I am not sure how to exactly deal with these stressful thoughts except to keep plugging away at my to do list and count down the days until spring break. I am enjoying my short evenings at home with Michael and trying to squeeze in as much quality time as we can together.

I hope you are having a great Valentine's Day!

  3. Rose - I was also worried when you had skipped some days from blogging. I think because sometimes in the past that has meant heavier-hearted days. I like what Michael is wishing you on your way out -- he does sound so very sincere and kind. I didn't notice the baby bear at first glance ... so cute!
